How do Goodison & Morris attempt to bridge the gap between these two opposing groups?The “Mother Goddess” theory says that human society and religion began with the worship of a Goddess and female divinities everywhere represent survivals of this early mode of religious expression. Many non-specialists, artists, feminists, and amateur historians drawn attention to the images of the female.There are two sides facing this argument: the Goddess writers and the academics including archaeologists and ancient historians. The Goddess writers suggest that many artifacts exist in the world actually reveal the female form of god. For example, many sculptures are focused on the female body and describe a pregnant woman.
